Cannot deploy to SAN drive on host

I have SCVMM2007 with VS 2005 R2 SP1 on a 64 bit Windows 2003 R2 Ent server. This server has SAN drives attached to it as drive letters.

I can create and deploy VM's to the servers local C:\ VS library share and VMRC to thoose ok. But as soon as I tell SCVMM to create a new VM on a SAN drive on that server it gets to about 82% complete...tries to start the client and then just sits there...no vmrc opens up.

After checking the SAN drive i can see all the files there. I even try the Admin console from virtual server and can see the server is there just not turned on. I can turn it on via the VS admin console and see the thumbnail showing the server starting up..then sitting on the MS agreement F8 page of a server installation. Its when i try to vmrc to it that i just get that annoying page telling you vmrc isn't going to work.

    Help!

Re: Cannot VMRC to hosts deployed to SAN drive on host

OK after trying to move a VM to another SAN drive i just setup as a library share the following happened...

It got to 85% completed... completed "Change properties of virtual machine" 100% but then didn't start the next step which is "Change state of virtual machine"... checked the file locations and all the files are in the new share but it didn't finish removing them from the old share...

In the VM Manager event log it shows...

and the SCVMM2007 just shows that job at 85% complete and hangs there.

Re: Cannot VMRC to hosts deployed to SAN drive on host

    - The Installation directory wasn't default either for SCVMM2007 it was installed to C:\Apps\MSSCVMM2007... and from what i've read about authorisation manager this might be pretinent.
